About David Tulis
David Tulis is a seasoned photographer in Atlanta, Ga. David has visually documented Atlanta and the southeast for nearly three decades and is a highly praised photographer and photo editor. Tulis specializes in fast-paced action photos, sports photos, people, events, aerials and aviation photography and multimedia including video, audio and slideshows. Currently, David is involved in freelance photography for wire services and consulting on best visual web usage in the Atlanta area after two years as the Multimedia/Photo Director for the Athens Banner-Herald and OnlineAthens.com in Athens, Ga. Before that, he spent nearly two decades at the Atlanta Journal Constitution/ajc.com. Prior to the AJC, Tulis was a wire service photographer for Reuters, Agence France Press and United Press International. David is a private pilot and also specializes in aerial photography, aviation related photos and multimedia. He has a large collection of Lake Lanier aerials documenting the Chattahoochee's Water Wars with Alabama and Florida as well as the south's historical drought. Besides his award-winning photojournalism, David enjoys the satisfying images that come from adventure and also plays bass guitar in the Sagamores, a local Ska band.
